I do apologize that someone took a shit in your wheaties this morning, but you haven't clearly stated what you are looking for in a car. All you say is "modded." My reasoning behind e46>c6: Much more attractive of a car IMO. I like the c5 body style much better than the c6, so why not c5z? E46s are also more luxurious and the overall build quality seems to be better. Ls2s have a more aftermarket support than the s54. LS2s are also faster stock and much easier to derive power from. E46s can be had for cheaper than c6s, so you could spend the difference on FI. IMO the e46 is a much more refined car.

I've always had a spot in my heart for vettes, but I just dislike the aesthetics of the c6. I will admit c6z's are the tits, but idk if your financial situation would permit such a car. If you're looking to branch away, why not get the M? I've actually been toying with the notion of picking one up myself because they're just so darn cheap now. Most of the ones I've been browsing are low to mid 20s.
