Motorsport Nationals event this weekend...?
Are you going? Not sure still waiting on our vendor/media info...
What do you think about it? Mixed feelings.
What will the outcome be? Hopefully Good but Verdict is still out.

Being a first run event I think it will be a bit of a failure this year. They will need time to build this event up to get it to where the Nopi Nationals once was. If the organizers keep this show alive over the next few years and build it to where it could be hosted at the Congress Center then I think it could be successful. This weekend's show though.....I'm predicting fail.

Nopi still has a part in it, thats why I dont think it will be to big of a fail... Most of the "nopi" guys are doing it. Like myers etc..

Yeah, they do still have a part in it, but they are up against the problem of a lot of people getting very butthurt about "Nopi" being cancelled. The attendance is going to be slim the first couple runs for the Motorsports Nationals. Like I said above though, if they stick with it then they can quickly build it back to what Nopi use to be.Originally Posted by EmminoDaGreat

i think it will be a decent local show, but won't have as much as out of town people... There is virtually no national sponsorship or major vendors like toyo, nitto, falken, xbox 360, and etc.... No major magazine coverage except some online mags... I hope this is just this year and nopi nats will be back at atlanta motorspeed way.. Ironically, this looks like its going to be 1 of the most pretty weekends ever and its held indoors.. While the past Nopi had rain right before the event...
BTW, its needs a better name, Nationals shouldn't be included in the same when only 500 cars will be there if that...
ya lol every year b4 nopi it rains...

Well, I got confirmation of a media pass, but no info. Any idea when they are open to media and vendors tomorrow morning? The show will be alright, I'm sure, but it doesn't have the big support so I'm not expecting the Nopi Nationals equivalent.

Mark Meyers isn't most of NOPI. He is one person who's main job with the motorsports department was to get plane tickets for the models. Michael and the parents both told Mark not to do it but did anyways, hence why the nopi name is nowhere mentioned with the show. If it was lawyers would be coming after J-bird and Mark.Originally Posted by EmminoDaGreat

Its a last ditch effort for them to make some cheese before the end of the year, and yes there are former employees working the event.![]()

From the rumor mill: Nopi Motorsports which is seperate from the parts company was in the process of filing for bankruptcy, thus the reason they could not have the nationals, because they would generate revenue and actually have to pay their debts back, so IMO they did this "Motorsports Nationals" BS under a new name to protect any revenue that they could potentially make.Originally Posted by Julio

They haven't declared Bankruptcy, they are doing everything they can to lessen the debt to the vendors by selling stuff to them very cheap or doing returns.Originally Posted by Julio
