You do need it. She is a very strong person and I know she can do it.
since both of you seem to be such great people (never had the privilege to meet either of you in person) then this maybe a large change for other people around you, not just you and her. keep your head up man
Just keep being strong... I am praying for you both!!!
Edward
This morning the took her down for her Cat Scan, they said her body did well for the move and she is back in her room, and vitals are stable. No real changes except her Kidneys are getting back within normal ranges today and they have made a slight adjustment on the breathing machine this morning. Instead of it doing it all for her, they are trying to let her do some of it, but the machone is still doing it just not 100% now, I dont know what the CT scan will say, But I hope the breathing change is a step.... God I need her back.
i'm glad to hear she's stable..ive been wondering about u and her this whole w/e and what was going on..didnt wana hassle anyone like i did friday and saturday..keep your head up home slice..keep your head up
It's nice to hear some good news. Keep us updated. :)
Thanks for the update Brett. I hope that this is the week we see her wakeup. The thoughts and prayers sure seem to be working so far. Keep 'em up people. :goodjob:
We are still praying bro..
Come on Leisa!!! u can do it babes ...just wanna say i really appreciate all the kind words & prayer being demonstrated it will help....i just know it guys
I do not believe God is punishing you Brett. It is our mortality and how we face it that defines us. God's plan for Leisa is as it shall be. We could not change and alter it, even if we knew what it was. God has no desire to push you away, just the opposite. These mortal coils we exist in are only the beginning...Quote:

You are not alone Brett. God is with you, and so are we.
Im not gonna lie, my eyes just watered. +10ish for you every time i can!Quote:

Well they took her off all sedations today and she has not woken up yet or even tried yet, the Doctor said if she doesnt in a couple days she may never. So guys, I need your prayers more than ever.
Just prayed man.
Hang in there, Brett..... I'm praying deep for you.....
prayed and off to bed in a few man, keep us updated to every little detail.
Brett, been reading through and praying with each update you give.
I'm waiting for the update saying she's up and talking to me.
I know you don't know me and never have met, but you're views and ideals are quite similar to mine and I respect your opinions alot.
I wish the best for you and your wife, and I will continue praying.
Latest update:
As Brett stated, Leisa has been weined off the sedation medicine, yet she's still not responding as the doctors hoped. Brett needs our prayers and support more than ever today and tomm. They would like for her to give some signs of consciousness, but it's not happening right now. They can only keep the breathing tube in, which is in her throat, for so long before they have to take it out due to irritation and possible infections. If it continues, she will have to have a tracheatomy to continue with the breathing aid. This is pretty much standard procedure for someone in her condition. Doctors are trying to stay optimistic, but the next two days are pivotal.
We need everyone to stay focused and help Brett and Leisa. Prayers and support is what is needed.
I know I don't know you guys but My wife and I are praying for her full recovery.
Thank you.
She had no movement over night and with her being taken off yesterday off the sedation I really need her to move and show signs of trying to come back, The doctor says if she doesnt in a couple more days that is a huge problem and she will be moved to a facility to get taken care off and still will not know if she will ever wake up.
Echo-That was very moving, I am truly impressed. Reps whenever I can.
Brett-I pray for you and Liesa and your children every night. God isn't punishing you for anything! You and Liesa have such a strong love, and that is rare these days. Hang on to your faith, and keep praying buddy, God has a plan for you both!
Hey Brett,
Paul called me the other day to tell me what happened. I haven't had the chance to get on here and let you know, that I just like everyone else on here is pulling for her. And I just like you am not a religious person, but since I found out, I have talk to the big man and ask him for his help. We will pull through this, just stay positive.
keep talking to her Brett. she's gonna wake up soon bro.
Thank you all, I have to keep remebering this is only day #6, and even though the Dr. says if she doesnt wake up in a week thats a set back, But I have heard so many stories of people in Coma's that dont wake up for closer to 10-14 days or more.... Her brain has been through alot and it may take a tad longer than a week. I am trying so hard to stay strong. God its so hard.
tell her i said dnt make me call into my second job to come wake her up. lol!!
I wish I knew people who had strokes in the same area of the brain as her, The Pons is the area hers, in which Pons - contains centers for the control of vital processes, including respiration and cardiovascular functions. It also is involved in the coordination of eye movements and balance. That is why she cant wake up
Man, this is terrible. I have been reading, just waiting for you to post that she talked to you, that she woke up.
I know you have never met me, probably didnt even know I existed, but I am praying for you guys as well. Have faith, she will pull through. She knows you are there, and she is doing everything in her power to wake up.
Stay strong, keep positive, and keep praying. She will pull through man, gotta have faith!
^^ Thank you so much
My prayers for u and ur family. What's her ICP/CPP right now?
Keep us updated!
I have seen her ICP between -2 to around 11 the last few days (Im not there right now) but because the tube in her head, thats why it is staying so normal
checking in for the support and update man...i hope all is well/stable
Well today we had a first good day since she has been in there. Today is 1 week tonight she had the stroke.... and today she made a few big changes (Atleast to me, even though the doctor didnt seem to impressed which pissed me off)
Today a CT Scan was done, and her swelling has started to go down in her brain. Because of that they clamped off the tube that has been draining her fluid from her brain and her brain has been doing it like a normal brain since 7am this morning.
Her right side since she has arrived there has reacted to pain tests which told us her brain fires to her right side so we knew there was no damage on that side, but today......Her left leg and arm has been now responding to pain, All reflex only, Not Leisa doing it BUT her left side has not shown any movements in her left side since the stroke so to me it shows her brain is starting to repair the damage.
The doctor says he needs her to wake up, and I wish people on here knew a Neouro (sp?) surgeon, etc who can tell me if these new things could be or seem like steps to her waking up. I would think if her brain is letting her left side begin to feel pain that it should begin to let her wake up, But no one will tell me anything.
But guys, PLEASE I BEG YOU, keep up the prayers, They are starting to show they are reaching her. I so hope she wakes up from this. The longer she stays in it, the less a chance it is I know.
Beautiful!
Glad to hear that! It has to be a good sign that she is responding to pain. It will be no time before she wakes up, keep positive and keep your faith up Brett!
That's great news to me.. Still prayin' till she's goin home from the hospital
Brett, hang in there buddy. Keep fighting and keep praying. She's going to get through this. I have a couple doctor friends and I will try to reach them and see if they know any neurosurgeons that could provide some insight into your questions. I'll let you know if I am successful getting anyone. Keep hope alive man. :goodjob:
Keep your head up my friend.......remember who we are talking about here "Leisa" an she aint going out like no limp biscuit....nah mean!!!! she's gonna pull through this homeboy!!!
I woke up to a doctor rubbing circles on my circles on my sternem (for pain, and yes it hurt and the bruises were colourful for a few weeks after) since I was reacting to pain the whole exchange group I was over there with (this happened in Germany) came in and all started chanting and cheering for me to wake up. (the doctors there were not impressed by the noise, but hell, it worked) Maybe she needs a few cheerleaders?? Either way it sounds like she's fighting to come back to you!:bump: Hang in there!
