I love how those facts about the rotaries, how all of them fail and all. One thing ran didn't mention was that the rotary motor that failed was the one known for having weak apex seals. The turbo motors all had weak apex seals. But it's all a matter of how you take care of it. You don't treat it right, it will fail. Treat it right and it will reward you. I haven't heard of not 1 RX8 motor that has failed due to the apex seals. I've heard of them failing due to oil starvation. The renesis is the best rotary to date. You can about expect the gas mileage to be weak for such a small displacement engine. At 1.3L's, the displacement/power ratio is killing any honda out there right now.

Damn right, it proved a rotary can be clean with new emissions and got amazing NA hp. Now, because of the RX8 success, there will be a two door in the future.

I really don't feel like arguing but two things I'll comment on.
1. I get headaches driving automatics cause i feel like it is telling me what to do and when I'm in serious traffic, i still wouldn't trade the 6 speed. You get used to it if you do it long enough and it becomes beyond second nature.
2. Not just on this web site but elsewhere, a true manual is referred to as a real man's gear box. It has been that way since the 60's.
I disagree with #1, I'd take an auto, I think it's a pain in the ass...
#2 is true, but just because I drive an auto, has nothing to do with my masculinity or me getting girls...

I'm not concerned with going fast period. Not in a straight line, and not around curves. I never tried to mod my car to be fast, it's more for show than go. When I floor it, my mpg goes straight to hell with my v-6. well if you arent concerned about how fast it is dont say stuff like "my car is faster than a miata in a straight line" and quit using the excuse that its auto because its your daily. My z, which was cheap, is relativley fast, is a V6 that i run the **** out of, and is a 5spd, is my daily. and i still get decent gas. hell all but one of my DD's has been an auto, and the one auto got worse gas than any car ive ever owned, about 3mpg. its second nature once you do it long enough. when i drive an auto, i find myself reaching for the clutch and going to shift. and if you are gonna compalin about ur gas mileage, then buy a fvckin 3cyl metro.
meh thats kinda different. i mean you cant compare a maxipad to a C5 vette man. i had a auto S10 blazer with a v8. but it had a B&M mega shifter so it still required some work
