not necessarily! if you did an ls1 or ls2, they're light engines so the weight dist. wouldnt be thrown off too bad, it would get GREAT mileage because you would barely have to touch the gas due to the torque of the engine combined with the weight of the miata... and if you do the swap right, it could be very reliable! granted, it would cost you a decent amount, but then again it would be less than all of the other cars she mentioned AND it would be more fun!
