I'll be honest with you, as an Obama supporter I was absolutely scared of Mitt Romney. As the nominee and the VP pick, it was a no brainer and the REAL changes needed probably would have come through him since he is economically sound..Originally Posted by NevrNufTorq

I think the main thing McCain just did was to take the Historicalsignificance of Obama being the 1st black president out of the race. If McCains party has the same type of historical significance to his party getting elected then hopefully this will be a vote for the issues and not popularity or historical significance.
Now back to the age and experience bashing... :-)

Sarah Palin is a f*cking retard - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ys4H...ad.php?t=13538
Understand though, Hillary's supporters were behind her because she was QUALIFIED. Hillary is way different than Palin, I think its more of a slap in the face because essentially they're throwing those supporters a bone without much substance.
To compare Palin to Clinton is apples to oranges, he should have gone after the independent vote.

Thoughts? The volatile issue of teaching creation science in public schools popped up in the Alaska governor's race this week when Republican Sarah Palin said she thinks creationism should be taught alongside evolution in the state's public classrooms. Palin was answering a question from the moderator near the conclusion of Wednesday night's televised debate on KAKM Channel 7 when she said, 'Teach both. You know, don't be afraid of information. Healthy debate is so important, and it's so valuable in our schools. I am a proponent of teaching both.'
I can beleive that about a percentage of the Hilary supporters, but you have to know there are MANY of her supporters supporting her merely just because she is a woman. There are MANY Obama supporters supporting Obama because he's Black. McCain knows this and is betting on that percentage to get the vote. You know, I know, everyone knows it.Originally Posted by tony

The Don't care Grandparents will vote for McCain, the Don't care minorities will Vote for Obama, and the Don't care women will vote for Sarah. They are out there and they vote whether we like it or not and that is the people that vote on vanity instead of issues or convictions.
It's free voting country and both parties are trying to use that to their advantage. I can't blame either party for trying to pick up the DON'T Care vote. Either way if they win with the Don't Care or on legitimate voting, they still win and still get into office.![]()

She doesn't have a long history in office but the time she has served has been successful. I like her because she sticks to her guns. I agree that no one saw this one coming at all, but I think he made an excellent choice. If McCain wins, she will compliment him well. They make a great team.

weak choice once the shock value has passed Biden will destroy her in debates. she has no credentials/experience worth mentioning - most analyst thought she was far outside chance so obviously republicans are grasping at straws on this one.
Palin dismissed the commissioner of public safety of Alaska, and the commissioner said it came right after he said he refused to fire palin's ex-brother-in-law who was in the middle of a custody dispute with her sister.

That's a pretty sensitive issue. I somewhat support the idea of creationism being taught. While I don't personally believe in it, as long as it doesn't get into specific religious ideologies it wouldn't make me mad. I mean you have to take into account that evolution is still a theory, and it's hard to say what should really be taught. As long as they keep the separation of church and state by not specifically teaching a certain religion it should be fine. The problem with it is that the teaching of creationism would most likely be used to specifically promote Christianity, and that's where the line is crossed. It would have to be regulated to such an extent that I don't think it would work.Originally Posted by meepnork

Now shoving that all aside, the fact still remains that she lacks the experience to fill the position, not anymore than anyone can claim about Obama anyway.

its quite a big deal - considering you want to support a guy old enough to be your grandfather he drops dead of a heart attack and you want her to be your president; her experience consist of 1 year as Governor and being a city council member

Also that she fellates guns every night. This oughta rally the base.

Maybe they'll find some footage of Obama saying he's black and accuse him of using the "race card". Maybe they will find another half brother of his and make yet another dumbass ad trying to discredit him even though Mcan't doesn't even remember how many houses he has. Maybe they'll attack Obama's wife again.
What we do know is they won't focus on actual facts and informing the voting ppl of how he plans to better this country. That'd be too much to ask.
Still hasn't necessarily been proven. I do agree with it, but it doesn't make sense to isolate creationism as false. The problem with teaching it is simply the way it would be taught, not the idea of it.Originally Posted by meepnork

Correction, it hasn't been physically proven. As in witness first hand, we currently have enough data to support it though. And there should be no fear in the way it's taught, if taught correctly. Get rid of the teachers who can't and bring in the people who actually know what they're teaching. Simple solution really.Originally Posted by alpine_xj
