..I got school and work, hah.. 80% of new orleans is underwater..and Im sure as the days go on without stopping the water from comming in the percent of that will go up.
..And they wont let anyone in those areas. or nor they can go back home for atleast a month I heard, only reason they can come back for is see if there is anything left of their home ..grab anything they can get..and get back out. and residents need proper Identification to get to their homes.

Now they want EVERYONE out of New Orleans, Water is going to rise another 12-15 feet because they gave up on trying to stop the levee breach, I feel so bad for these people

wow are you serious brett?
...damn wtf..this is U.S..all the smart people...and they gave up?..how can they just give up..so now they are just going t0 wait this out..and let it get really bad..then slowly let the water go down itself?
well....... how do you just randomly stop walls of water to come in..its not exactly easy to just stop water with the flick of a swtich.
yeah, they were saying they have been helicoptering in sand all day, but the lake water and the excess water is just washing it all away and because it's already below sea level, the current is just too strong...
plus right now, first thing on anyones mind is Search and Rescue..and to find the missing and Dead, & food, water supplies.
I got 20 family members that got the hell out and went to Texas. And they livedwithin the city limits, sooo im pretty sure that there house is gone. Sucks we were just down there 2 weeks ago for a weeding.
messed up situation and its getting worse....all u can do it wait
Not that they gave up, Its just a loosing fight, the water is coming in to fast for them to make a difference and the pumps in that area are about to give out, nothing they can do at this point, Its not like they can get heavy equipment in to build a wall, they are doing this by hand with sandbags and its not helping, so they had to back off and worry about getting people out now instead. this is what so many of those bridges are looking like
and sections of bridges washed away doesnt look like a easy fix.
Yeah I couldnt believe that today when I saw that, Youd think the bridges would have been built well enough to withstand the wind, but then you realize it was the 20+ foot waves that did that.

And to think the hurricane season has just begun, Thats the scarey part, God know whats lies ahead for these areas for the rest of the season

there's also footage of the damage that has been done to slidell, all homes are etheir under water or completely destroyed...you can barely make out roads...
I wont even know what to say to my cousins and aunt and uncle once they get here, because I'm sure they havent seen the video or pictures yet.

btw, thanks for all the info....I went to nola.com and found out about Slidell, it's in pretty bad shape, they are not letting anyone in or around that area because it's too "hazardous"
my brother in law made it back this morning, he said after passing mobile, gas stations were pretty much non exsistent, the closer they got to gulfport they had to manuever around trees and drive over alot of debris and once they got into gulfport he said there were slot machines littered throughout the streets, houses, gas stations, stores all wiped clean.....they had to climb a wall of debris to get to his grandmother's house and she was fine and so was the rest of the family, but his grandma and uncle refused to leave and wanted to stay behind and clean up, even after being told that they will not have power for weeks if not months....they had to siphon gas out of cars on the side of the road to get enough fuel to get out, he said he had to keep it in 4wd most of the time, and there was stench in the air that was really horrible. They ran out of fuel about 15miles before Mobile, and were able to coast it to a gas station that was closed and slept there over night, until someone drove to them and said that the gas station down the road was open but had a long line to wait....so they made it there and filled up and made it back just before noon....he's got tons of pics, but I forgot the grab his camera because he had to get back on base to work today, because he's on call to be deployed soon....
I'll post pics when I get them.
Damn so sad, I cant see how they are dealing with any of this

they are gonna bypass us here in columbus and head straight for my parents house, so after friday classes I am gonna head to ATL and then gonna load up some water, food and gas and head to Louisiana....apparently they will have a chance this weekend to go back for a very SHORT time to pull any valuables or things of importance and then leave immediately.
geeze this insane...mom's been watching and we were just there for spring break and now it is all destroyed...the motel we stayed in was right by the beach beside where the floating casino was....
