"UNION CITY, Ga. -- Union City Police are looking for two drivers that caused an early morning accident that sent an elderly woman to the hospital.
The accident happened in the northbound lanes of I-85 near the Highway 138 exit early Tuesday morning.
Witnesses reportedly told police that two cars, a black Mitsubishi Eclipse and white Dodge Neon, were racing on I-85. The driver of the Eclipse lost control of vehicle and rear-ended a Ford Explorer. The impact caused the driver of the Explorer to lose control, overturn and crash.
After crashing, the Explorer was hit by another vehicle.
The 61-year-old driver of the Explorer was entrapped and had to be pulled from the vehicle by a special rescue team. She was transported to Atlanta Medical Center in serious condition.
The driver of the Eclipse fled the scene on foot.
The driver of the Neon did not stop after the wreck.
Union City Police are actively pursuing both drivers. "
