Both "anata" and "omae" are both pretty rude actually. Avoid using pronouns whenever possible. If you know their name, use that. If the person or subject in the matter is already established, just omit it all together.

Anata > Kimi > Omae > Kisama

Kimi is a more feminine way of saying "you" but is still very informal.
