Yeah, gas went from $4.01 to $3.99 for regular where I live. God knows that if oil goes back up $5 a barrell then gas will be $4.20 for regular.Originally Posted by PBS

gas went UP here.... i live in canton & was headed south and FIGURED it would be cheaper in woodstock.... it was 3.95 off exit 20 and then when i got to 92 (exit 7) it was 4.09 .... fuuuuck that.
it was in the $3.70 range in some places around here in marietta according to that cheap gas atlanta site.
The reason why it hasnt dropped alot is because people know its about to skyrocket again.

Or maybe they have a room where people sit around and say "i think they will pay $5 a gallon, lets go for it".

i paid $3.83 last week in downtown columbus. midtown and northside was like $3.99 to $4.07 for regular. going out of my way 7 miles FTMFW. lol.
Gas prices typically follow behind oil prices by 2-3 weeks. We should see the price of gas decline further by the end of this week into next as long as there is not another spike in oil prices. The sudden jump in gas prices when oil spikes is all based on speculation. They are slower to drop gas prices due to speculators not wanting to lose their asses if and when an increase in oil price occurs.
Let's hope the cost of a barrel of oil continues on a downward trend. We'll slowly see the good come out of it.![]()

Ran its not that hard to figure out why it did not drop much at all.
The gas companies paid for that gas before the price of oil dropped so they need to get rid of this supply of more expensive gas before they are gonna lower the prices so they do not lose money. Gas stations dont make much money at all from gas, its all from the food and ciggs and beer.

I haven't seen shiat it's gone up to $5.15 for Regular.. I wish it was cheap up here like it is down there..
So why is it that when oil prices go up, gas prices go up immediately but not so when oil prices go down?Originally Posted by Hulud

oh I forgot to add the raise in gas prices is due to the addition of Ethanol in the fuel since it costs more to make it than regular gas since it's derived from corn, which has driven up the price of alot of produce too if you haven't noticed. Also the flooding in Iowa and other states that produce the corn has caused a decrease in supply thus driving up the price.
- I did pay alot of attention in Econ. (good shiat knowing how to make money and economic depressions work for you)
