    my emissions test

    nox had a reading of 2722, and they only allow 1240.

    Mine failed this year at first also. Easy fix, get a oil change and new filter, buy a fuel injector cleaning bottle like the ones at Autozone that you can put in your gas tank then fill your tank near full. Put high octane gas in. Then drive the car about 65-100 miles your choice. Hit passing gear if automatic a few times, or if manual dont hesitate to floor it a few times and get the engine warm before you take it in. After all of this it could pass, if not you need to service it more but that should work it did for mine.

    If you want to save money buy the oil and filter and do it yourself. It should be around 15-20$ (regular oil doenst need to be synthetic or expensive oil) instead of the high prices of 35+ for an oil change. Use the left over money to buy gas and the fuel injector cleaning bottle.

    my problem has nothing to do with the car. i have an aftermarket hollow cat. i can put the stock one back on and pass but i really dont feel like changing cats just to pass a test if someone can pass me.

    pour some de-natured alcohol in your gas tank. you can buy it from home depot. i've only seen it there in 2 sizes. there's a gallon can, and then a smaller one (i can't remember the size). you want to get the smaller can. pour the whole thing in your tank, and try to do it while your tank is kind of low (below a quarter). retard your timing, and then go try it. i've done that to a lot of "sniffler checked" cars, and it's work. i only had one car where it didn't work, and his numbers were up in the 3,000s. the way i see it, you're going to have to pay to get it "passed" so maybe try this on your next free one, and if it works, you'll know you won't have to pay that overhead to get it passed ever again.

    that will do it...... but the way i tested it when i worked at a shop that done emmisions we took a half of tank of gas and poured a bottle in a car that wouldn't pass (the shop owners 1967 mustang fastback).... it passed.... but then it started to run like sh!t so filled the rest of the tank up with gas and it corrected the running like sh!t problem
