If you get vendors on board, they can advertise as well.

Well Ive got 2 spots, one is at a church with a big enough grass lawn we could fit 200+ cars. Then Ive got my grandparents place, just a field, hold 350+ cars easy. But no where to go inside at that spot.

Anyways if we end up needing a for sure spot just let me know, it might not be 100% ideal but hell at least we would have something. Its in Henry county.

Honestly since this will not be as well planned as Nopi IMO I think it should be directed towards a family event. Either way Im out for the night. Got to get up early and spend a fun filled day at Carmax in Norcross Repairing the outdoor lighting. I will check back before I leave for work.

i cought this thread kinda late. but i have already spoken to several people nationally about getting an event together for the same dates as nopi. our main concern now is location somewhere that can hold 500 cars to be safe.

Where this place is at you would be lucky if they could even find it in the event you were about to die

It will hold more than the 200 I said, just not sure how many cars it would hold honestly.

let concentrate on some locations. i know the exterior of AMS would be nice. but all things considered this would have to be just a meet this yr. not enough time to secure sponsors to support a structured show

IMO it looks like Import Alliance will be the next "nopi" for now.

Nothing will come close to what NOPI NATLs was, in terms of size and attendance.

You guys do realize that they were charging vendors as much as $50,000 for a midway spot right?

Heres the problem, they charged big companys like EIBACH booth space, then, when a customer wanted to buy eibach springs, they would peddle the NOPI #1 brand. They ruined alot of people in the SC industrys credibility.

They had ****ty vendor support and ****ty business owners. plain and simple.

As far as the "next thing", Varsity is always big. But trying to come up with something as big as the Natls, wont happen this year , no way. You wont attract people from Cali, Texas, etc the same way. you cant replace a tradition like this in 2 months time.

Someone with DEEP pockets would have to step up, i dont see that happeneing, not in todays economy. You do realize that one of the main reason for the NDRA series having issues was $5 a gallon Diesel right? Sponsors were giving any money out, and people couldnt afford to drive 1300 miles for an event, etc.

I think its good to show support like this, and im not trying to get you guys down, but your best bet is to contact AMS and pay the $5000 to rent their outside parking lot, thats the only thing i can see happening to accomdate 300 cars, thats assuming people would even show up.

If you are into this kinda thing, support the local DRIFT events , Import Alliance, TunerFest, etc.

Oh and lastly, you cant just have a MEET at AMS. You have to have security, trash detail, INSURANCE (million dollars), Ambulance on standby, business license, permits, etc.

Its not the Varisty where you just show up.

Having 500 cars is a logistics nightmare. Not saying it cant be done, but if you guys are serious you need to contact the people hosting HIN and IA to see who does their promotions, etc
