Default ? For those who bring lunch to work

Alright.. I've never been much of a brown-bag kind of guy, but I have an unhealthy habit of going out to eat too much for lunch, and when I don't go out to a restaurant, I usually just come home and make a sandwich, which is about a 15min. drive ea. way. (I get an hour, but I'm salary so leeway is okay).

Regardless, eating out costs too much, when I could just as well spend the money on car parts, tools, mortgage, gas (now more than ever), etc. And the gas I "waste" driving home, plus the time lost when I could be surfing the net, etc. just doesn't make coming home for lunch seem reasonable.

So what do you all pack to take to lunch? I'm looking for some variety, as I'm pretty sure that I would get bored with Campbell's Soup-at-Hand and various lunchmeat or PBJ sandwich combinations fairly quickly.

Work has a microwave and a fridge, keep that in mind.

Good suggestions. I might add that value over cost might not work for me.

I'd rather spend $5 on a good microwave meal than 2 bucks on awful-for-you microwave burritos

i havent had lunch out in so long i've saved so much money like that man.

i usually bring leftovers from the day before, or i make a trip to kroger and buy easy stuff to make, like sandwiches, pasta, and just make it in the morning. if you really start doing this hardcore you will see how much money you will start saving.

Yeah, I'm hoping that the savings will bring my bigger P/C oven to fruition sooner.

Our fridge at work is filled with my stuff...lolol

    Lean pockets
Salad stuff ( Lettuce, Lite Ranch)
    Turkey!!!!!!! Wheat bread, lite mayo.
I stock it once a week.

I also bring leftovers when I run out of food at work. I have been doing this for 3 months now, and I have saved hella amounts of money, and have lost 24lbs with my diet.

Definitely. I make some alfredo and it's super tasty the next day. I always make extra so I have some for lunch. And, I hate wasting food so I usually just do leftovers for lunch.

Buy a small george foreman grill (20 bucks at walmart) Some chicken breast, and salad and dressing. Store it all in the fridge and have awesome healthy lunches that you can make it about 10 minutes. Thats what I do.
