what can i do to get it reduced? isnt it all up to the judge though?

the judge just judges on the facts and sets the fine. it is the solicitor that makes the case against you for the court. you can plea bargain with the da before your case to get the speed reduced and to lower the fine. tell the da that you would like to know if you could go to traffic school and do some community service to lower the speed on the ticket to keep it off your record. depending on your record they will work with you a bit.
