yes, but in this case, it needs to be used as a noun to be gramatically correct. When you say "for the win", you're saying for the win... implying that said win is used as a noun.

GKtib, Nate is right - it is "for the lose", practically nothing coming from either of the above sites is grammatically correct. It has always been for the lose, people who fail @ teh interbutts are the only ones who thinks it means for the loss.
