thats why its called an accident. he didnt mean for it to happen, he just made a VERY bad decision. He is young, and was behind the wheel of a powerfull car. Im sure his friend was enjoying the "joyride" just as much as nick was, until he lost control.

it was a very stupid and costy decision on his part, one that unfortunately affected the well-being of his friend. 8 months sounds like a punishment, he should be happy it didnt turn into vehicular homicide.
