I like certain types of camping. My friends' idea of camping is bringing 34543 cases of beer and some steaks and grilling out and getting drunk out in the woods. I prefer backpacking and camping in the wilderness. To me the best part is knowing that I can survive on my own without much (if any) modern conveniences. It can be really expensive to buy the right gear, but It's a lot of fun.
