what is with white people and camping? i have a group of friends that are going camping this weekend and asked for my token minority presence....i have seen one too many horror films where the black guy/minority of the film dies a horrendous death first. also the idea of sitting around in the dark in the middle of nowhere with a fire burning (illuminating the fact that you are all alone) slightly disconcerting.

my parents came from a country without running water, barely adequate electricity, no cable TV, a/c etc. why in fuks name would i want to get away from said luxuries?

i'd understand the concept of a log cabin where said ammenties are at your disposal...but to stay outside in the elements (with insects) with no running water, a/c, TV, internet, proper bed, bears, scorpions, snakes and etc i find rather...ummm...Caucasian.
