Think it was about 3-5 years ago. A guy from South Africa came to America, became a citizen and finished high school top of his class. He got a scholarship to an African-American school. When he went there the people in charge said he lost his eligibility because he was not an African-American because he was not black... I dunno, I guess everything in this world has a shady side... It's not white vs. black. It's ppl vs. ppl whether they are both caucasian or any other "race" I think if you were born in America, You are AMERICAN. If you become a legal citizen, then you are an AMERICAN. I don't think there should be any "hyphenated" Americans. It's one thing to still want to know your roots, but I am not a "German-American" just because my family from generations ago is from Germany... I am an AMERICAN, plain and simple.

The guy graduating from Morehouse went against the odds and overcame it. That says a lot about the guy.

man My family tried to push me into a HBC matter of fact I coulda gotten into Morehouse because my Uncle graduated and knew the dean of admissions. Like he spent a good 6mo tryin to convince me to go. I just thought it was retarded because Im not goin to be around a bunch of negroes all my life so put myself in an all black school. SO i said **** it and too the low road to perimeter. I dont regret it. If they are so hyped up on MLK then they woulda realized that a school like that is an oxymoron. How can you be equal but separate yourself? This isnt the 60's anymore or an apartheid so I say they should mix it up a bit. I gotta hand it to the guy if he got top of his class race shouldnt matter.
