Poor feeding by the baby is one of the signs. I'm not implying the baby has galactosemia, but I'm sure the hospital wants to be 100% sure in their diagnosis, hence the retesting. Some other signs to look for :
-Jaundice (yellowish discoloration of the skin and the whites of the eyes)
-Vomiting
-Poor weight gain
-Lethargy
-Irritability
-Convulsions
There is a site called http://www.galactosemia.org/ that is not for profit and started my parents with children who suffer from galactosemia. The site has tons of useful info. I'm sure you may have found it during your search online. Ask your pediatrician whether you should refrain from feeding the baby any dairy products until they confirm the issue. Goodluck!
