That's kind of what I'm gathering from what I've seen so far. I've nothing against Mike personally. He's generally a pretty cool dude and I've met him in person. I just think he's carrying this in a direction it doesn't need to go.

I'd suggest either leaving the subject alone and keeping all the BS in the WL where it's supposed to be "anything goes", or just doing away with all offensive content as a whole. Considering how drastically member participation would drop if they chose the latter, I would just leave well enough alone and keep it in the WL as it's meant to be.

They are harmless. Offensive to some? Sure, but no worse than other stuff I've seen on here. There's nothing graphically depicted, it's an image of bear and a phrase typed next to it.

So let's say you ban Pedo Bear. How I about I find another mascot and post it with similar text content? Going to ban that too?

All I'm saying is that you need to keep things at a logical level. Banning an image of a girl getting banged, cum-blasted, or whatever then fine. I've no quarrals with that. However, to ban an image like....



...seems more than a bit overboard. It's not overly offensive and it's not NWS but it does have Pedo Bear in it. Judge images by content that is actually depicting something, not something that just a crack at an offensive subject.

I've never seen any of the joke content as a problem as long as it stays in the WL. That's why it exists. It's just generalized "anything goes" BS. Keep it out of the serious forums and leave the WL alone. If you don't like it, don't come in. It's like how I see the RLD. I don't really like it, but if I don't go to it then it won't bother me. It has it's place and that's where it stays. Same thing for the WL.

Also, regulating what appears on globally-viewed avatars/signatures and what appears in a concentrated forum are two seperate topics.

What is part of the problem is that there is a certain "click" of people on here that day in and day out post about nothing but "you are a child molester" or post up a pic of a little girl crying and adding a captian directed to an IA member saying "Why did you make her cry?" I agree with this post in just about every aspect. Still, that comes down to the members themselves, not specific content. You can get people to tone it down and keep things on a decent level without blantantly outlawing a subject altogether. I've absolutely no problems with that approach.

I completely understand that you want the site to clean up. I agree that somethings get out of hand, but I don't see a need to ban things that are already put in a specific section. I don't want to porn all over IA, so they keep it focused in the RLD. Great! Now I can browse the site without see @ss everywhere. I use the same approach with the WL. If I don't want to deal with the general bullsh*t one day, I'll ignore the WL and go chill in Car Talk or somewhere that I can have an intelligent discussion on a topic. As long as the Pedo Bear and other content stays inside the WL where "anything goes" then I'm good.
