definitely sounds like BS to me...just threaten escalating it unless you get your check... Or somehow acquire your check(perhaps covertly w/ a friend who works there)... deposit it and let them never hear from you again lol... If they try to come at you, they can't prove they gave you a key to begin with, since you didn't sign for it lawl... Thats what i'd do.
