I can't comment on your knowledge of engines because I don't know anything about it myself, but all other areas of (whatever), I can pretty much comment on. And, as usual, you give pretty bad info. First off, he should left the key on initial walk-out. With someone in charge. I know he said he called the next day, but I wouldn't have waited several days afterward. I wouldn't have even called that following day. They have a business to protect. Since they didn't hear from him for several days and they have no record of his calls, they have no other recourse except to change the locks out. They don't know what he could do. If they aren't willing to work with you (and they probably won't only because they don't want to take the $500 hit), then you're out that last paycheck. Later, QD.
