Uh, yes it did. I've been 3 times. In 2002 (first time I went), you were considered wealthy if you're family had a car. 1 car to share!. I just got back again in feburary, and everyone in my fiances parents neighborhood now has a car. In 2002 there might of been 10 cars in the whole neighborhood. There used to be almost no middle class. Now it's exploded, and their middle class is growing like crazy. I can't believe how much it's changed in the past few yrs.

To make matters worse India is almost growing at the same rate.

Here's an article for further proof. Written in Canada in case you think the US government is bull****ing us.

They were saying on the news last night there are 3,000 new cars each week joining the roads in China and that is casuing the worst air polution on the planet because the average speed of these cars is 5mph due to such traffic.

Some people who are supposed to compete in 5 months in the Olympics there are refusing to go due to they fear the pollution when doing thier races, etc.

China is suggesting the wear masks all the way up to the event, do thier thing then put it back on, Thats how bad they know thier air is

Neither did American cars back in the day when they had HIGH performance motors, doing exactly what a growing country does until it realizes what it is doing and matures. DUH.
