In the garage I have the '56-'01 GA state flag- 4'x6' and next to it the flag of the Confederacy which we proudly flew durring the "war of northern aggression". also 4'x6'.
I am far from a racist. I am just proud to be from the south and I love its colorful (not meant in aracist way) history.

The history of the south is pretty strong. Depending on where you want to start. If you want to discuss the Civicl War look at the Hunley- the first submarine ever built that was used in battle. If you want to go further back look at the history of this nation and its growth. The money made from crops such as tobacco laid the foundation for what would become the worlds super-power.
More of the ignorant thing I hear is that the rebel flag- what is in 81911's sig is NOT the stars and bars. The stars and bars is actually thr flag that is in Stillaneon's list as the first flag in the series.

If you want to fly the confederate flag because of the history is represents, then fly any of the three I posted. But do not post the Tenesse Battle Flag (The 2nd Naval Jack) and call it the Confederate flag. Its ignorant and it shows that not only do you know little about the heritage you supposedly support but that you are supporting (whether you mean to or not) a symbol that is filled with hate for a group of people because of the color of their skin.

To spark off an even bigger debate- Why are so many people so stupid that they think this new GA flag is better than the '56. If anything this is MORE of a sign of racism because it is based on the original flag of the confederacy. The other mearly had the battle flag.

I agree. I mean South Carolina had the battle flag up on their courthouse up until about 7 years ago. It is completely ignorant to assume that Georgias flag changing twice in the last 10 years does anything more than incorporate past flags in a new way. At least it is the actual stars and bars though. A little more heritage and a little less hate

Well if you like the Tenessee Battle Flag then you do not like "your stars and bars". You like the Naval Jack converted into the shape of a flag. The "stars and bars" was the first flag used by the confederacy. It becomes more and more amazing what research does. I mean I did the research to verify that my information was correct, do the same..

i have already stated, no it was never the flag of the CSU.. just pointing out that the last two are not CSU flags.. the first one was their army battle flag, however if it was windy the north and southern troops would think it was a surrender flag, hince the reason why the next battle flag had the red on the end, which work a little better.
I also think it is ignorant to call me or anybody else racist if you do not know what the flag represents to them. what one thing may seem to me could be totally different for you.
