NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- The Treasury Department said Thursday it plans to sell $101 billion in debt next week in its monthly round of shorter-term note offerings. The government will sell $40 billion in 2-year notes /quotes/comstock/31*!ust2yr (UST2YR 0.85, +0.02, +1.93%) on Tuesday, matching the amount expected by Wrightson ICAP. It will also offer $35 billion in 5-year notes /quotes/comstock/31*!ust5yr (UST5YR 2.11, +0.09, +4.25%) the following day and $28 billion in 7-year notes next Thursday. The 7-year security was reintroduced in March to help the government spread out the increasing debt issuance needed to fund all of lawmakers' stimulus plans and the Fed's programs

It'll work though.. selling US Debt to foreign countries creates a LOT of capital for the US.. Of course they have to pay this debt back which is why the Defacit keeps growing.. The theory is that if you drive down the USD enough, it will be more expensive for companies to produce products overseas so the companies will bring the jobs back to the US which will in turn increase the value of the US and drive the economy back into the black..

THAT is why someone should have put me in charge of the Federal Reserve. hehe
