so i drove home down 285-78 and had to hold the door closed the whole way from infiniti. wrapped a towel in the door frame and held it in my hand. when i got home in stn mtn area i have a bunch of spare parts from another J30 and luckily had the drivers side door with full locking assembly inside the door. so i took the whole assembly out and swapped it into my car door. the biggest pita was getting the arms in on the handle. other than that it wasnt too bad. did have to take the door off though to get to them easier.
other than that its fixed now and i can get into the drivers door once again lol

yah the service guys at infiniti gave me a strange look when i said all i want is the door to be opened and that i already have everything else. they tried to act like $650-$800 isnt too much to fix my door completely with new parts.
