I think she wants us to realize that she's obviously too feminine and girlish to know anything about lawnmowers and bicycle parts. Obviously, anyone that wears makeup and spends ten minutes on their hair has no place in a parts shop, and clearly the people shopping there should have assumed that from her looks, rather than assuming she knew something about the place where she was obviously working.
Shame on them for not stereotyping! Shame!
