Default Good software for learning Chinese?

Hey... I need to learn to read and write Chinese.

I got a intern position with a company in Shan Hai over the summer.

LOL! Read and write? ****ing hell....you have a LONG way to go. I've been learning japanese for nearly 3 years now, and I'm far from fluent.

Try Pimsleur, it helps with Japanese, but I'm not sure if they have it for Chinese. Mandarin right?

I have Pimsleur here, and can give you a copy. My wife speaks/reads/writes Mandarin, so she can probably give you some pointers as well.

I've download podcasts from I Tunes to learn mandarin. It's free. Won't help you with the writing part though.

Here is the guys site that produces them. http://www.melnyks.com/

I hear Rosetta Stone is the way to go these days. Not cheap, but I hear it's the best.

x2 for rosetta stone. ive looked at the trial versions of it and it seems to be really good. also the fact that the government uses to train people foreign languages is pretty good.

Rosetta Stone is the best. It uses immersion for you to learn very quickly. They have it for every language possible.
