Depends on the company. Fed and local are not hard to get.

Are you switching jobs?? If so, COBRA your exsisting plan out as long as you can. It'll be more expensive, but being on COBRA will still be cheaper than going on the open market. Eventually you will have too, but it will buy you a lot of time to shop.
