    Because minority and more specifically, black representation of population at 99 percent of colleges and universities across America is so significant.


    and really, who cares about ONE MONTH?
    I guess the other eleven months of the year aren't dedicated to history or culture that isn't based primarily on European ( read white) subject matter....
    Like anything different is learned from year to year. It's the same repetitive shyt, and even so, how is it really hurting you to "learn" about a different culture that is a major part of US history?

    And MLK day being based on a as you put it,womanizing individual...

    Hmmm, lets look at this a little more closely....

    American historians tend to revere figures such as Thomas Jefferson, who was a womanizer and one of the " founding fathers" of this country. So, under your logic, are his accomplishments any less significant because of his extracurricular exploits? NO. So that argument is null and void....
