Default So, Our Trip To Vegas.....

Our trip to vegas is coming up quick, we leave Monday. Leisa and I went 2 years ago but we didnt have enough time to do much. What do you all suggest seeing (Within budget..lol) while there this time? We are there for a week.

I want to go see the Hoover Damn while there, I would assume tours leave from the hotels? I plan on asking the guy in the middle of the tour "When do we get to see megatron?" lol

I love vegas. I have been there 3 times, each for the SEMA show. Try and see shows. Ive been to the Blue Man Group, Jay Leno, and Andrew Dice Clay. There are others but we like comedy better. Do not rent a car. you WILL regret it.

If your going to gamble, stick to BJ. it's the easiest to learn/win at.

The Hoover damn is nice...but you'll prob regret it. Theres nothing to see. the tour is short, you see like 2-3 rooms and a lot of concrete.

I wonder if Andrew Dice Clay still is in Vegas doing shows? I loved him when I was growing up.

We will not rent a car, Walking around is easiest we find when staying on the strip. I think the Hoover Damn though would be pretty cool to see in person, do you not agree?

Was the Blue man group good? We wanted to see it last time so bad.

The Blue man group was EXCELLENT! great music, HILARIOUS, entertaining, magical, the show had everything.

Andrew does a few shows I believe. Not as many as before. So awesome to see him in person.

The Hoover damn, to me, sucked...and for my dad. I mean, ya gotta see it and appreciate how it was built and everything...but thats about it. Its a beautiful site, but again...its just concrete. lol.

We did that one time. We got a last minute deal on a helicopter that wasn't full yet. It was $250 for both of us. We heli there, spent the night in AZ in a cabin and heli back. The cabin included breakfast and dinner. The cabin where we all stayed was on a working ranch, so it was pretty cool I also always enjoy the Cirque De Soleil. Zumanity is the naked show and it's at New York, New York. When you are done with the show, you can ride the roller coaster there. They also have a huge game room at New York New York.

Also, I would suggest going to Hard Rock and playing the slots. The reason I say Hard Rock to do this is because their slot payouts are bigger in my experience. I always just play slots, that way you can play the .05 or .25 slots and get free drinks all night. For the most part you just break even and get free drinks, too.

I know how to play craps. I'm pretty good at it and so is Dan. We team up and ki.ck ass. The thing with craps is, you have to risk a lot of money. When it's good....it's real good. When someone rolls the wrong number....it's REAL bad. I have some craps books if you want to read them. That's how we learned. We just play slots when we don't have the money to play craps. Drinks are free at the slots. You can put in $.25 and get free drinks all night as long as you look like you are playing.

I had sort of read up online on how to play craps before I went to tunica last time.

I just assumed you threw dice and screamed.

Uh no. I would suggest that you not get plastered if you are going to play craps. Especially at a full table. It's a fast game with lots of hands moving around and a lot of chips on the table.

They don't come by going "FREE DRINKS! WHO WANTS FREE DRINKS."

The waitress just would always come by ask if I wanted something, then I'd always just tip her with some chips.

Yea, you get free drinks anywhere while you gamble. Tables and slots. Even at the bar. If you play .50 at time on the video machines, the drinks are free. It's nice if you tip, but as long as you are playing you get free drinks. I just say do the slots so you can get real drunk and won't lose a lot of money. You start getting real drunk on the tables and you are fu.cked. You also need to go to a well staffed casino to get the drink flow going right...another reason i said Hard Rock. They have lots of waitresses. Also, $1 tip keeps em coming back. Essentially you pat $1 per drink, but it's better than $8 or $10 if you aren't gambling. I am a Vegas Pro, so if you can think of anything you want to know...let me know. One more thing, never go to see the "free shows" they offer. They are trying to get you to buy a condo. They will make you go to this 4 hour seminar, "with food" , all to try to get you to buy a condo. Then after you sit thru the 4 hour seminar, you get the tickets.

I lived in vegas for 2 years. The grand cayon was pretty cool and so was the hoover dam, but it takes an entire or more to do those. Tracy pretty much covered everything, its been awhile since i lived there so i dont really know whats new there now.

Also, get a players card and use it everywhere you gamble. You will earn free stuff that way. Of course the more you gamble, the more comps you get...but jjst playing slots you can earn buffets and stuff. You have to remember that each casino has a different payers card, so it doesn't pay off to move around unless the casinos you visit are owned by the same company.

You can also find lots of "last minute deals" like I did with the heli thing. You just have to look and ask. The Heli tour we took was usually like $500, but they want to fill the tour...so it's cheap at the last minute. The bad thing is when we found it, we had like2 hours to get ready to dip for the night to the ranch.

If you like roller coasters, there is a new ride at the Sahara at the Nascar cafe. It is a bad ass ride. Short, but takes your breath away.

M&M world is kinda cool and free. The forum shops at Cesars and their Champagne brunch on Sat or Sunday is good. I think Ferrari still has a shop on the strip and if you like to hike let me know I know a few good places. GVR- Green Valley Ranch is a nice casino, kind of a relaxing place to play.
