Ahh here it is! 1965
1965 was the first year for the shelby mustang to appear on the streets and only about 500 (+/-) models (gt 350 model) were made for street use.
just for example if every state were to recieve the same amount of GT350's there would be 10 of these in each state which would be very uncommon to spot one driving on the streets. Also in the next two years of production there were probably 3,000(+/-) models made and sold. Also in the year 1967 (i could be wrong) the GT500 emerged and i know there were 2000 or less of these made.
Now a days there are mustang models which include; standard GT, shelby GT, hertz shelby gt (500 models), shelby gt500, roush stage 1 (just cosmetic), roush stage 2 (cosmetic and suspension) roush stage 3 (cosmetic, suspension and supercharger), roush blackjack (most rare model), roush 427 (which is stupid and has nothing to do with c.i. and is the hp rating), saleen (cosmetic and minor performance, i/e and probably suspension), saleen parnelli jones mustang (my favorite model, 500 made i think, comes with 5.0 built motor rated @ 400 hp n/a), saleen supercharged, saleen supercharged extreme, ronaele 350r, ronaele, 450r, ronaele 550r, and special order ronaele 750r.
mustang gt
shelby mustang gt (baby shelby)
hertz shelby
roush mustang (stages 1,2,3)
roush blackjack
roush 427r
supercharged saleen mustang (looks the same as regular saleen, extreme supercharged has CF diffuser and larger wing)
ronaele mustang (only differences in the 350r~750r is hp and side strip "badges"
saleen parnelli jones mustang
which all of these models as you can see makes the mustang "over played" imho. they are still "rare" models but are no where close to being as "rare" as the original gt350 and gt500, which is probably why they are orginals.
hope that is a serious enough answer for you, yet i do not hate on mustangs, i like them. just sometimes i think they are too played out.
