I always "accidently" hand my license and Eagle card over because its under my license and "gets stuck". Usually sparks a nice conversation with the officeir and Im good to go.

Also the hands a 10 and 2 oclock position, and windows down along with the lights turned off is cop procedure if I may recall correctly. By doing this, the cop/officier knows that either you know a cop/are family to a cop/or just know cop procedure, thus respecting his job and increasing your chances of getting off with a warning.
