riddle... kinda strange

i've always done math in my head...i got the right answer but went about it a little different way:
add up all the 1000's >> 1000+1000+1000+1000=4000
then add up whats left >>40+30+20+10=100

add the two together, 4100.

duh?

thats how i add, when i explain it to people they look at me sideways. i explain that the simple way to do it instead of complicating it..
