the economy effects many things in mexico, jobs is one of them. money is very hard to earn over there, you bust your ass for nothing.. many people in the past have protested but little was done to fix the issue.

You have made the trip to the U.S., started a family, are gainfully employed, pay taxes, and your choice is; A: pay thousands of dollars to get your paperwork started which could very well lead to your deportation which in turn means you'd have to LEAVE YOUR CHILDREN BEHIND because THEY are citizens and you're not, or B: stay real quiet and pay your taxes under a fake SS# you bought off some shady guy off Buford Hwy somewhere. What do you think most people are going to HAVE TO do regardless of what they WANT to do?

My point is that even when "illegals" TRY to do the right thing and apply for their paperwork it sometimes takes YEARS to get thru the system and even then there are no guarantees that it will be approved. If it doesn't get approved, they get deported. Talk about sink or swim, no pun intended.

So if the U.S. Government and John Q. Public wants some true immigration reform and results.....they can't make the lawful way so damn difficult and painful as to make it easier to go the illegal route. If you really want people to be here legally and pay their taxes and be counted, then damn it don't make impossible to do. Don't make people wait in a line until they're too old to walk. Don't make people jump thru a ton of hoops, only to then turn them down with no explainations. That's not fair, plus that person is going to tell 10 people who are then gonna tell 10 more and so on. Before too long, it will be part of what everyone believes.

Like I said, this issue is not as clean and simple as "go home" or "do it right or go home" as the media and politicians would have 90% of the population believe. If you've created a $hit storm for yourself by being a spineless coward before, don't try and fix it now by being a bully. It doesn't make it any better. Yes, hard choices have to be made, but you can't make them blindly. We have no real politicians nor leaders willing to do that. They all TALK a big game when they're in front of the cameras, but when it comes time to fix the problem for real they fold like a cheap lawn chair. It's a never ending cycle.

Do you think that every "baby mommas" really can't name their child's father nor get a job? Do you think that everybody that applies for compensation from an insurance company is REALLY as injured or at all? Open your eyes. This is what I mean by hypocracy. Everyone loves the buzz word of "illegal" immigration, but we have thieves stealing us just as blind every damn day of the week and twice on Sunday already. Why aren't we just as concerned about those millions of dollars being wasted? I'll tell you why. It's simple. Those millions are being wasted on and by CITIZENS, ie. votes. Piss them off and you get no votes. No votes, no cushy retirement plan. Get it?

I agree with you 100% on everything you said. There needs to be a serious immigration reform.But when you get right down to it, the laws that are on the books right now are simply not being enforced. Now I'm not saying that even if they were that the problem would go away but it would certianly die down a bit.

The exact same reason why we would allow people that aren't disabled sit on their butt all day and pay them to do so. The exact same reason we pay women to have babies out of wedlock and not take care of them AND pay them to do so. The same reason we give away money for people to do absolutely nothing. All of it is technically illegal. Why are we not doing anything about that either? Let's add up all the dollars we could save if we actually MONITORED when we gave hand-outs. You wanna see BILLIONS, there's you a few of them I'm certain.

Instead of having an overflowing Washington, we should hire people to do nothing but go around monitoring people that are receiving welfare benefits. Do they really try to find work?
