just need to set up a 50 cal turret on the border and mow those bastards down
This threads really shows just which of IA's members are even remotely intelligent and which ones are just plain retarded bandwagon riding fools.
Illegal immigration is indeed one of this nation's biggest problems. There are many different facets, ALL OF WHICH were CREATED by OUR government's inability to think beyond their own feet. On one hand lynch mobs love to compile and get each other worked into a mad frenzy demanding deportation of those "damned lazy illegals", yet they themselves couldn't name the Secretary of Defense of their beloved U.S.A. if their life depended on it. The flip side of that coin is that illegal immigrants do indeed put a strain in a local economy by dredging resources legal citizens either don't get or won't qualify to receive. Is that fair? Certainly not. But if we're being honest.....there are literally tons of good ole red blooded citizens that are scamming that same system each and every day too. Why don't we tighten the noose on those leeches too?
It really comes down to two things from MY point of view:
1. Political correctness.
2. Votes.
Political correctness is doing far more to kill this country than any illegal immigrant ever will. Why? Because if our "leaders" are too scared to implement the laws that are already on the books or on the way, those laws are not worth the paper they're printed on. When our elected officials stop looking at all of us as merely cattle with a ballot in our hand is when the real wishes of society as a whole will finally start being met. As of now, special interests, large companies with deep pockets, and politicians that are scared to be real men and women are the ones that truly control this country. We are merely pawns in that chess game.
All politicians get up on their platforms and preach about what they are going to do when they get into office, but very very few ever DO what they promised once they get there. This is the reason why government should be smaller and not bigger. This is the reason why we should look in our own backyard and clean it up FIRST before even attempting to deport a large portion of the the entire country's population.
I am the first to say that it is not fair nor right for someone to come here illegally and then reap the benefits that should only go to those here legally. But we also must be intelligent about our execution of that idea. Merely picking up a torch and yelling "kill them all" or "go home" is accomplishing nothing but making the yodler show his/her small IQ. We have to do what makes sense. You can't complain that you got robbed if YOU leave the front door open. You have to close the door and lock it. Then you have to protect yourself from getting broken into again. THEN you have to deal with that thief that is still IN your house. You have to be deliberate and resolute in doing it. You can't stick your head in the sand and pretend that the burglar is not there when he is. It doesn't change the fact that he IS there, right? So we can't merely put a void where something previously was. It would create a vaccum effect. There are many multi-facetted ways of doing this, but all involve having people with spines to implement.

I'm sure a lot of you had to go look that up.... Exhibit A. ;)
I wont lie on the secretary of Defense I instantly think Donald Rumsfeld but that was 2006.. I often forget that Robert Gates is the current and I still cannot commit the current Chairman of the Federal Reserve to memory as of yet either (Ben Bernanke)
Yeah, but I KNOW you are intelligent. Some of these guys I'm really wondering how or IF they even got out of High School.Quote:

I honestly doubt a lot of kids who post on IA graduated from high school. They get there GEDs; drive there EF civics and are content being ignorant.Quote:

In most cases illegals are not paid over the table which is what you are implying. Most illegals are paid under the table. Most get paid in cash and then come tax time the companies write it off as an expense which is why I don't see this new law working.Quote:

I agree with you this defintely a problem we created for ourselves and the only way to solve it is to get tougher with the laws already on the books
Listen, you are being very narrow minded. I will attribute that to the fact that you're young and haven't seen or done quite as much yet. But you are absolutely wrong in your assumptions.Quote:

The reality is that there indeed quite a few illegals that get paid a regular check just like or me. They get deductions taken out too. Problem comes in when they DON'T file tax returns because their SS # is actually bogus. That is a problem. The real problem comes in from those that do get paid in cash which compounds the problem even further. What percentage is which? It's impossible for ANYONE to say since census nor IRS know crap since they're "counting" ghosts and collecting taxes from noone. All the figures are merely guesses. How can you say how many are here, if they won't be counted? How can you say just how much they contribute if they don't pay taxes? It's a double sided coin. You can certainly add up what benefits are being used up, but that's one side of the equation. Irritating, but only one side.
*edit* I hit the send button too early.
You need to look around a little closer. There are just as many lily white and carbon black losers out there sucking every last red cent out of our economy and not replacing it just like you claim illegals do. What is the difference? You can't choose where you're born or whom you're born to. There are just as many worthless AMERICAN BORN AND BRED leeches if not more than "illegals". A leech is a leech is a leech. What makes a citizen any more deserving of milking our politically correct system than anyone else? Wrong is wrong, right? Why not just try and keep EVERYONE from treating us like suckers? Because we have an escape goat wearing a sombrero and speaking a different language that is much easier to point the finger at to keep the spotlight off the lily white trash or the carbon black thief stealing the exact same things right out from underneath our nose right now.
Pick up a newspaper or watch TV on any given day. How many times do you see white people fleecing the system out of millions thru scams? How many times do you see a Black girl with 6 kids who has enough money to have a cell phone but refuses to get a job or name the father of her children so she won't lose her benefits? How often do you see Oriental people driving $100k cars, living in $500k houses, yet since their business is a strictly cash intake only make $20k on paper? I can do this all day. The point is that all of you that are so intent on blaming only one part of our society for taking advantage of the system really need to take a closer look around. The "illegals" aren't the only ones suckling from that teet. Recognize that FIRST and want to fix that FIRST, and then you will start making some headway towards a real solutions.
My post was based on my experiences I have worked 2 or 3 jobs involving illegals which in the grand scheme of things aint ****. But from what I have seen most illegals that are working out of sight like in kitchens in resturaunts are paid cash.So that answeres your first two paragraphs. YOu are right I haven't done a lot as I'm 19.Quote:

See, that's part of the problem here. There are lots of people that incorrectly feel exactly as you do. Sometimes they're right, but most of the time they are just stereotyping.Quote:

Matter of fact, I know 10x's more citizens that weasel and cheat the system to get benefits they NEVER paid into.
Does that mean that we should let everyone just waltz in here and do what they want? Hell no. But before we go around pounding on our chests about how people take advantage of our country we should also look in our own backyard and pull up the weeds there too. ;)
In case anyone missed it. Read again.Quote:

I worked for a couple of large banks a few years ago. Many, many illegal immigrants get paid in check form. Most of them had checking accounts too. Guess what... they paid fees on their checking and savings accounts which goes to thousands of employees pockets. Illegal immigrants attibute for BILLIONS of dollars in our banks that help pay for thousands of paychecks.
Will we ever know how much they help/hurt the economy? Probably not. One thing is for certain; complaining on the internet isn't going to change anything.
I remember when Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans. You wouldn't believe how many scamming AMERICANS were running around. Claiming their 2-year-old daughter's social security number to FEMA in order to get the $2,000 displacement check. It's disgusting.
What I find ironic is the people complaining about illegal immigrants are the same people that will hire a contractor that employs illegal immigrants because it's going to save them a few hundred bucks.
Truer words have never been spoken. :goodjob:Quote:

This goes back to hypocritically claiming that illegals are the only ones draining our economy. Like you said, if people really had the conviction they have when they're on that big bandwagon they certainly wouldn't hire a contractor that does that yet gives them a better price to prove a point. 99.9% won't, yet turn right around and complain about illegals.Quote:

Most of the electricity being used by a sewing machine the lady used to make money for food, electricity and other necessities. I had to even go and help pick corn in the fields (which were a 2 mile hike to get to), take it to be ground up and use it to barter for beans and other vegetables from other families. The 'house' was made of a mixture of cement, mud, wood and stones.
It was a very humbling experience. I definitely don't take things like running water for granted anymore. This was the point of our trip there, heh.
LOL! I can't argue about the water issue... :lmao:Quote:

and yeah, after seeing the environment they grew in, i can see why they wouldn't want their kids growing up there. it really is sad when people automatically think that mexican's come here because they just felt like doing it... wrong, a better life and future for their children. is why...
So did you just go and check their legal status or something?:thinking:Quote:
