you don't have to transfer anything. Format the gateway drive, move it to the slave position. That HD is your b1tch. Now, RIGHT before you take the HD out of the compaq, go into control panel and remove all the devices from the compaq computer. Then put the Compaq HD in the master position in the Gateway, then you'll boot up, everything will be the same, and you can install the drivers for Gateway hardware, and they should automatically pick up through windows.
