once again, not going to church and seeing what churchs do makes you not see what they are really doing. my church has an out reach at least twice a week and during that time its open to the homeless, jobless, and pretty much anyone that wants to come. they are given Food, blankets and are able to hear Gods word. Also, they are given food for their time in the week. usually about a 2 X 3 1/2 X 3 deep full of food for the week. and why not buy a warehouse?

well, since you already have a church built are you going to build a seperate building where you will need to spend more money to get that kinda place wired, set up, plus you'll now be taking your parking that you have since you only have a small bit of land to use already so by building that warehouse you now have no where for people to park so it was pointless in the first place even build it.

Also, lets say you're going to go to church. do you want to go into a cold damp feeling warehouse or are you going to want to come into a warm, soft chair'd church? They buildings do look now, and thats not a bad thing. you're saying that the money should be sent other places like out reaches.... well it is. and that church's are expanding and instead of shooting ourselves in the foot and taking away the parking we have for our members we are simply expanding and still adding services due to the amount of members we have. Also the money does go to help the community. Go find a church thats right for you and get involved and you might just find out what churchs really do
instead of guessing that churches are screwing everyone over, not helping anyone but them selves out.

    much love -jm

i am sorry and this may offend people who view this thread but this is my 2 cents. the christians you are stereotyping are the DI-HARD southern baptists...dont get me wrong cuz i know many people who are my friends that are of that religion but when you got to someones church and a group of people pull you into a room and ask you if you have been saved....thats jus scary to me

they are simply asking. some church have fdifferent approaches to that. like i said, the christian faith is always open to anyone and everyone. the way my church does things is we have an alter call, but its not mandatory that you come to the front alter. Its is imply all in how the church you attend does things.

Like i said, i can't vouch for any churches other than the ones i have attend'd. people are corrupt now-a-days. When people have problems, especially in churches, we (they) should ask for forgiveness and ask God how they can overcome whatever makes the stumble and God will never turn his back on anyone. He is a God of love and forever will be there with wide open arms to anyone who wants to hear his message.

wow @ those who are judging based on stereotypical views but dont want to be judged themselves.. organized religion is just a form of control? Dont let the bad apples distort your views, there are plenty of great churches that are established with good intentions and continue to pursue that.

It is mainly here in the south that people have that opinion of.. everyone should be and live a certain way but most other places really dont care.. get out and experience the world and maybe people wouldn't make general statements like they have been in this thread.

Christians are the most hypocritical people in the world. I try to have nothing to do with them in my personal life. They have all their beliefs and do not adhere to any of them. It's as if their beliefs are for non-Christians and they can believe what they want. Christians are the first people to be judgemental. That's the worst part. Later, QD.

actually, it does. Prayer/meditation at the end of my day does indeed help me to sleep. The struggles that I have been through in my life and my collection of experiences has reinforced my belief in God. Everyone's got their reasons. We've got ours. Just chill. Maybe some hypocrits have pissed you off in the past, but jerks exist in all races, religions. Dosn't mean you have to clump all of a particular people into one group. Geeze, stop bashing people who will be minding their own business and will probably bring hundreds of thousands if not millions of dollars to your city.

Not some, in my case. Everyone that I have let into my life, literally has done this to me. Got me into their "circle" and then fucked me right back out. Prejudged me, tried to use me for their personal saving gain and shit. I didn't like that shit at all. Later, QD.
