i know its something like that, which is fueled by greed and greed alone
as i said...ive never met a honest christian...they worship god and claim to live good lives (not perfect, but good) yet most the people you find in a church are the most corrupt people youll ever find adn most people you meet that claim to be a christian are hypocrites that say they live one way but really live another
i like youQuote:

I just dont have the time to tie my shoes most of the time much less go to church 2 days a week.Quote:

^ agreed, +1
exactly my point. early on i went to church(ok, when my parents made me) , but even then i used to see what was going on: "so and so sleepin with...." , "you know the pastor sleeping with.... his wife don't even know!" , "look at him, the biggest drug dealer in...." . " she a hoe.." , "look at her, standin ther lookin all sanctified...." list of comments goes on and on what i've heard. when i got the choice to go or not, i didnt, besides, one doesnt have to go to church to know and believe in a higher power.Quote:

LoL....more religious fervor:
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. -- The South has more churches per capita than other regions -- 15 per every 10,000 residents -- but the types of denominations available are often limited, according to a recent census of the American religious experience.
Only one Southern state, Florida, was among the top eight states in diversity of church group offerings, with 108. At the other end, Mississippi had 63 types of churches and South Carolina 65, according to data compiled by an arm of Glenmary Home Missions, a Roman Catholic organization based in Cincinnati.
The top five were Illinois (120), Michigan (118), Ohio (115), Pennsylvania (113) and California (111).
\"In the North, there was this mosaic of European groups that had strong churches, so that accounts for the wide range of denominations,\" said Robert Benne, director of the Center for Religion and Society at Roanoke College in Salem, Va. \"In the West, you get all this creativity\" in the formation of churches.
The survey found that Southern Baptists are the largest group in the region, with nearly 11.3 million followers from Oklahoma to the Atlantic Ocean, and their numbers grew slightly from 1990 to 2000. Methodists had nearly 3.7 million and Roman Catholics nearly 2.6 million.
The South\'s rate of churches of 15.4 per 10,000 residents was followed by the Mountain West at 14.2, the Midwest at 13.6, the Far West at 7.85 and the Northeast at 7.5.
haha funny thread....
my one question for believers is (dont take this as an attack but) why do you believe in 'god' i mean does it make you sleep at nite?

just my two cents in on this... im glad we're keeping all of this civilized and not yelling at each other. :) lets keep it that way!
what i never understand is that god has no use for that 10% and a church does not need 10% from all its members to operate. so why is it so much and why does god care about money?
God doesn't care about money man, the church needs it to stay a float.
yea but 10% from everyone is way more than needed
the money not only goes to the church but also goes to missionaries, supoorting other things that the church will help sponsers. also it gives the church money to expand, help with out reaches in the community, pay the pastors salary. etc etc. i believe that some people have the wrong idea about what the church does with the money. IE: stealing it, using it for wrong things, not really using it for what they say they are. The church uses most of that money on maintence and paying salaries.
Organized religion is a joke, Christianity is a joke and it just gets worse when you create a large groups of people that "believe" I have no problem with people that want to believe in something.. whatever works for you. I have a problem with hypocrites, I have a problem with people that force their views on other people and I have a problem with illogical thought. does that mean that all religion, or in this case, all christens are bad? nope. but I promise you out of the 100K+ of them that will be here there are some alot of people that fit into those categories.
na dhow many churches actually have missionaries...not too many...and why does a church need a $5 million dollar worship center...and if all the money goes to the church explain to me how the pastor/reverend/father/etc lives in a multimillion dollar house driving his brand new benz, etc...most of that money is pocketedQuote:

Thats the way my church has always worked. my old church had well over 45 mission families we were helping. and my new one has only 4 b/c its within its first 7 months of opening.
as for why do churches need a 5 million dollar building. well if more people continue to pour thru church doors then you have to have a way for them to recieve the message. there are some churches that offer as many as 4 services a day b/c every since one of them is packed out and they have to add more. so what is smarter to do. spend the money that is coming in to help and outreach and let more people hear the word of God or have as many as X,XXX services a day. Churches aren't trying to scam you they are just trying to reach out to the community and reach the people in the streets.
everyone sins, EVEN di-hard christians but they just dont admit it, oh and im catholic, and if drinking is a sin, does that mean the whole entire catholic religion should go to hell because they drink wine during mass when we have confession?
the act of drinking is not forbidden but for me personally i think that if my having a drink causes someone to second guess my faith and integrity then its not worth my having a drink...
However no, davison, its the act of gettin drunk ya crazy kid.
PS: hows the teg lookin?
regardless of how many people attend a church does not need a state of the art building...if it is about worship adn receiving the word as you call it then find a warehouse...etc...you dont need a building like they have...and if they believe in it so much and are really trying to help epople by spreading the word then having multiple services during the day shouldnt be a problem...they should be willing to do that...its not like its hard work or anything...its talking...instead of spending all the money on a damn building the money should go to help the community...homeless people and those that are sick or on welfare...
i posted pics yesterday dumbshit find em n you'll see
