Not having a horn is akin to a brake light being out, or your blinkers not working, etc.... so I would say yes...

Not in the state if GA. The only way you can fail an emission test for a safety related problem, is on a 95' and older, which requires a dyno test. If there is anything about the vehicle that the inspector feels to be unsafe to test it, (fuel leak, flat/ odd sized tire on the drive axle, etc..) he/she can fail it. An emissions test has nothing to do with vehicle safety features. It is not a vehicle safety inspection, it is an EMISSION inspection. But don't take my word for it. Call the Clean air force, and find out for yourself. 800.449.2471

    yo n00bimus maximus

You sure you're right? got a source? I'm pretty sure that emissions inspections only test the EMISSIONS output of the car to see if its within the DOT legal spec. I don't even have a horn button on the starion.

I have however done a salvage inspection on a car of mine (and this is where they tested everything, like turn signals, horn, wipers, etc)

Maybe your age caused you to get a little bout of alzheimers and get the old mixaroo.

What does my age have to do with anything. It is so. I've been right there on many occasions as they actually do reach in and test the horn. The horn is a safety feature.

Who said anything about just emissions. I was also speaking on safety. Check out Bill Cosby when he did Reading Rainbow sometime. Not only will you get a few good laughs, you might also learn English and reading comprehension. It'll help you in your quest to rise from the level of IDIOT.

That's been my understanding. Why would they test the horn if it isn't so.

And I'll definitely take your word over someone that has an obvious deficiency in grammar and basic educational skills...InIt2LoseItFucckBoy. Later, QD.

maybe they like honking the big one?

i am aware that other states have 'safety inspections' where they would test the horn. they may or may not have emissions testing in addition to that, i do not know. however, if they rolled it all into 1 big test, it would be easy to think that testing the horn is part of the inspection. however, since only emissions testing is required in GA, we have no need to reach in and honk..

if i needed something i would honk at the techs in the main building so they would come to where i am and help me..

Gotcha. I don't know why they would do that then. This year is my first year ever dealing with emissions. And I was told by the guy that did mine that it was a violation. I figured I could trust him. Guess I need to go elsewhere. Lolol. Later, QD.
