You guys have to realize that everyone is human. We all make mistakes. Some of us have a very low tolerance for certain things. For some of us, the list of those things is longer than others. As such, sometimes we are quick to respond to certain things that irritate us more than others. Alternate Egos, bumping, anonimous call outs, newb questions, etc., etc., etc. are just some of those things that we all know irritate some more than others. I am very much guilty of this. Some things irritate the stew out of me, other things aren't that big a deal to ME. Sometimes when we do moderate a thread where something or someone that irrates us is happening it may seem as we are just being Nazi when in reality it needed to be moderated. The receiver of that can also feel unjustly moderated simply because they happened to have hit the wrong trigger point on a moderator. Doesn't mean there needed to be ZERO moderation though. Know what I'm trying to say?
We have had a lot of changes to IA recently. There are quite a bit more to come. In order to make those changes take place, some new rules as well as old have to be enforced. I think we can all agree that in the not so distant past, IA was really out of control in lots of ways. SOME people may enjoy that, but I really think the majority really didn't. So there are going to be some growing pains sort of speak. Some rules that you may not necessarily agree with, some you may. Contrary to popular belief, moderators don't sit around thinking about ways to catch people out of line. Sometimes it may SEEM that way, but in reality it may just be that something needed to be moderated or enforced.
Just my thoughts so far.
