    Actually taxes were originally created to tax the wealthy.. this country was founded on the notion that the common man should not be taxed, the problem is the wealthy are also well informed and find consistent loopholes in tax code to push the burden down to the lower class.

    This is true to a point but taxes were never intended to be what they are now. Hell the original income tax was 1% and it was optional! That was put in place by FDR so in 60 years it went from that to 40% for some and thats just income tax! If you include other taxes on property, sales taxes, and such some people are paying over 60% of what they make every year in taxes!

    The main point of me posting this was how ridiculous it was for the representative from Louisiana to ask for $250 billion for New Orleans not to start a debate...
