2jz is such a better motor overall. The reason they picked the 3sgte b/c they were looking to save weight and also they were not looking to make over 500hp also. Toyota got the 2jz right the first time, while Toyota fu.cked up on the 2nd gen 3sgte and thats why they remade it. The 2jz is on a different level than the 3sgte altogether. the 3rd gens are reliable, but that generation never came to the us. 2nd gens motors are know for popping over 350whp mark. It is a good motor, but I rather have a sr20 or a 4G63 motor instead of a 3sgte
