Wrong section for a serious post, but, as with any birth control method, IUD isn't 100%. It is a good way to prevent unwanted pregnancies, though. My wife got one a year and a half ago(after our son was born), and we've had no problems yet(knock on a woody). There's no pill to take or anything.
