    Dayquil is alcohol free...Thats why its non-drowsy, plus it doesn't have an anti-histamine like Nyquil. You are feeling that way because of the nasal decongestant phenylephrine. Typically it causes hyper-activity or doesn't cause a reaction at all, but some individuals experience marked drowsiness...hence feeling drunk.

    Yeah the bottle I have right here says Alcohol Free/Antihistamine Free/Sugar Free. lol I wasn't aware decongestants could do that.

    nao. you can get hydrocodone straight up. tabs get up to 10 mg codiene or loracets which get up to 12mg.. hydrocodone straight up.. i get 30mg

    Chell FYI.. my step dad is an obgyn and apparently Woman shouldnt take dayquil or nyquil.. or a couple of other OTC cold meds.. They cause blood clots in woman.. I will ask my step dad to get the notice that came out and scan in here...

    It's not drunk, and it's not because of the anti-histamine in it. It because of a dissociative drug that's in Dayquil, and Niquil that in humans heightens the coughing threshold.

    More specifically is a dissociative drug known as DXM, which is actually in the same catgorization as Nitrous Oxide, Ketamine, and Salvia. At lower doses the effects are similar to being drunk, but at higher doses the effects get more and more less depressant (alcohol) like, and it begins to show it's hallucinogenic properties. Be careful with that stuff, as the **** gets old fast, and if you drink too much you'll be ****ed up, and out of it for days.

    hmmmm I didn't puke when I extracted it, but I increased my dosage slowly (up to 900mg within 3 hours), and drank it with water. Ended up on the third plateau... if you know what I mean.

    I did puke my ass off though when I downed a bottle of it with some friends, in syrup form, which is what got me to end up extracting it.

    Dayquil always makes me feel like I am on crack, lol. I get really shaky and my pupils get really dilated and i just feel out of it. I hate that feeling. All cold medicines make me feel like that.
