I have no problem with any race doing something just for them (BET, clubs, etc.) whatever, you want to do it, go for it. It's the fact that people don't realize what they are doing when you create organizations like this. These things encourage segregation, nothing more, nothing less. How is BET helping black people become more involved in the world? It isn't. Wouldn't it be better if most of these organizations were done away with? I think it would be one huge step closer to filtering race out of the thought process.

Honestly I could care less if there were "white" days cause I wouldnt participate in them, im white I know this, and I've lived with it my whole life I dont have to be reminded about it lol. Lifetime being a form of white television? It's not touted as that, but does BET advertise that they cater to only black folks? I'm not saying that Lifetime is set up specifically for white people, but white people are about 97% of the show's color. I admit to watching the **** out of Lifetime Movie Network. The movies on there are really good. And, after years of watching it, I can honestly say that I have NEVER seen a movie that was based on, or even involved, a black person or black people. So I can say this because I know, not just because I want to try and prove a point. If you or any other white person wants their own channel so bad, then fork over the millions of dollars and do it. No one is stopping you or anyone else. Encounter racism remarks from blacks when you do it? Sure you will. Just the way black folks get it every day already for BET.

Holidays? Again who cares? I found that most of the white people that complain about MLK Day being a federal holiday are the one that don't get that day off. White people don't "have their own holiday?" If I recall my history pretty well ( and I aced the **** of all forms of history subjects), Christopher Columbus was basically white. As was George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, and HOLY ****, Thanksgiving. Here is the definition of Thanksgiving:

Black History Month? Black folks have a ****load of history to their past. We, as whites, still live our history daily.

Neither are the "black" "properties." BET doesn't advertise that they are for black people only. MLK's birthday is specifically for black people to have the day off. As for the pride bit...I was pointing out that "White Pride" should not be mistaken for "White Power". The Confederate Flag is a symbol of heritage yea...I don't take any offense to it, as long as it's "Heritage, not Hate". It symbolized a lot of things to people, so some people take offense to it...their problem, not mine.

agree and disagree. nothing wrong with being proud of who you are. As far as racial slurs, THEY HAVE NO PLACE ANYWHERE. no matter what race. BET is utter trash and really has set Blacks back. As far as white pride goes and why it is offensive to some, white pride or supremacy has its racial roots. The good ole boys, KKK, rebel flag etc. I had a white man hold up his rebel hat to me and my wife(who is white) on the highway. Yeah, real pride there. So it depends on how you show it.

I wish there wasnt a black history month, but without it i wouldnt have known a lot of the advancement that black people brought on. The traffic light, peanut butter, cosmetics, etc. So instead of a month, how about a year round curriculum of the study of all race history. italians, jews, arabs, chinese, all who had a positive influence on america.

I agree whole-heartedly. White people, as a whole, cannot dance for ****. They have no rhythm and no coordination when it comes to moves. i dont agree with this at all. it is all percieved. there isnt anything that easier for a white man than a black man solely because he is white or black. everyone has the same opportunity to do the same things.people may just need to, oh my god, WORK HARDER, to achieve them. just because you are black, white, asian, whatever and born in the hood, or podunk town, or a damn rice patty doesnt mean you cannot become successful.

hell, if you are born in this country you have no excuse to be poor. you are just lazy, or dont have the drive to do well. thats not anyones fault but your own.

the damn mexicans come from another country, and work their asses off to make a living. some of them are loaded and driving 08 escalades. they wanted to better themselves and they went out and did it.

if you are home living off welfare with 8 kids thinking someone owes you something because you are a certain color, you dont deserve a goddamn thing.

if you think the color of your skin is keeping you from becoming successful then you are a waste of life. you deserve and asked for whatever life throws in your face.
