agree and disagree. nothing wrong with being proud of who you are. As far as racial slurs, THEY HAVE NO PLACE ANYWHERE. no matter what race. BET is utter trash and really has set Blacks back. ALl the BLack this, Asian this is still what we tried to get rid of in the 50s, segregation. We as people segregate ourselves. Not colleges, not the media, we do it to ourselves. Until ppl can move on from the past, and unite together then we will stil have threads like this.

As far as white pride goes and why it is offensive to some, white pride or supremacy has its racial roots. The good ole boys, KKK, rebel flag etc. I had a white man hold up his rebel hat to me and my wife(who is white) on the highway. Yeah, real pride there. So it depends on how you show it.

I wish there wasnt a black history month, but without it i wouldnt have known a lot of the advancement that black people brought on. The traffic light, peanut butter, cosmetics, etc. So instead of a month, how about a year round curriculum of the study of all race history. italians, jews, arabs, chinese, all who had a positive influence on america.

All the so called racial pride is pushing us further away. UNtil we start focusing on getting along with others no matter what, we will get nowhere. Sad to say it will never happen. Everything is going to be unfair to some race one way or another.

I love all people and give everyone the benefit of the doubt no matter what background. I have redneck friends, asians, pakistinian, etc. Stop looking at the outside and get to know someone before you judge them.

Trust me in that this isn't an "attack" specifically to you, but I hate it when people say this. "I have black friends," "ask my Latino friends" or any other phrase that causes a person to associate with another race. People that constantly want others to know they aren't racist usually are. actually its been less than 200 years since the emancipation proclamation was signed freeing the slaves. while blacks still had to endure hardships it still does not mean that even today you shoud get special privileges. i never ownded a salve, my parents never owned a slave, and my grand parents never owned slaves....and i would be willing to bet that there are no ppl alive today that were slaves

As for the pride bit...I was pointing out that "White Pride" should not be mistaken for "White Power". The Confederate Flag is a symbol of heritage yea...I don't take any offense to it, as long as it's "Heritage, not Hate". It symbolized a lot of things to people, so some people take offense to it...their problem, not mine.

What would you have a Million Man March about? You aren't having any rights taken from you simply because you're white. I swear, some of the stuff brought up in the original post is only there for arguments sake. If you look hard enough for something to complain about, you'll find it.

Have you ever been in a history class? Don't tell me that you haven't been taught about the "accomplishments of our white forefathers". Are you really that opposed to recognizing another group of people? That last statement of yours is ridiculous. I don't feel that any race is incapable of anything. I don't feel that one is superior or inferior. Every ethnic group has its idiosyncrasies and quirks...some of those things may bug me, but it doesn't make me intolerant to that group strictly because of their race.
