What happened to family?

i might as well say i dont have a damn family. i call to tell my brother he is going to be an uncle and all he does is chastise me. Are you ready for this? Why are you making your life harder for yourself? WTF!!!! where is a damn congratulations? or is everything okay? i havent even talked to him in about 3 months. I refuse to call my sister because she is worse than my brother. First thing my dad said was "she's planting those hooks in you". I am goddamn married!!! What ****ing hooks?! My mom refuses to even acknowledge to anyone that I have a wife. My dad wont tell any of the extended family. "I dont want them to ask questions." **** you have a ****ing grandchild your are just going to sweep under the rug. I cant even bring my wife around anybody in my family because they dont want anyone to know I am married.

i think i am about to disown the ****ing Williams. That **** aint right. So what fi you dont like my wife, she ahsnt done anything to me. And my mom has never met Sarah but she talks mount everest tall mounds of **** about her. They kept trying to get me to divorce her in early times. ANybody have ****ty relatives that despise your spouse? how do you deal with it? I am about to just not talk to them or go around my family.

I guess it doesn't bother me as much because I consider Brandon and I (and soon our baby) to be a FAMILY. everyone else is extended family now. I can live with them, but I can definitely live without them too.
Being young and married is hard enough, I don't need anybody bringin me down. So I've just learned to brush it off and tell them to suck it

I can totally relate to you, however the only difference is I got pregnant with my daughter on my wedding night... granted I wanted to wait a few years to have kids... now I wouldnt have changed anything .. she will be 18 in March...

Just do what makes you happy, and dont listen to anyone else, its your life, and yalls baby... congrats!

I have the same problem with my family and my wife but the reason my family is the way they are is because they wanted me to marry my ex- girlfriend so they find all the reasons in the world to not like my wife.

ANybody have ****ty relatives that despise your spouse? how do you deal with it?

I have been on both sides of the coin.

The first side of the coin came about when I brought my first daughter and then my first wife home. At the time, my grandparents were the usual older white folks brought up in the mountains of TN and didn't see any business in mixing races. They were not happy about me having a black daughter or having a Japanese wife. On holidays, only I would receive cards or gifts. If the gifts were money, I'd keep it and spend it on my family. If it was material things, I'd send it back without opening it. It got to the point where I just quit talking to them completely. After a couple of years, something happened and they wanted to see me. And the family. Now, even to this day, after 17 years, everyone still speaks and is happy that the "issue" was overcome.

The flip side of the coin is what I am enduring now. My wife's parents are doing to me exactly, word for word, what you said your parents are doing to your wife. Except they are the only ones in the family who think of me the way they do. No one else in her family sees me the way they do. Our situation is mutual, though. They hate me and I return the same feelings. I honestly could care less if we ever see each other or speak to each other again. And, lucky for me, my wife is actually on my side with this.

This is when you have to realize..............You have to live your life for you!!!!!!!!!!! Your gonna be a dad now, live your life for your kid. If your bro and sis don't agree, that's cool everyone has their own opinion and the truth hurts. But they will get over it because your baby is here to stay. They should have asked you thoes questions when you first started having sex if they were so concerned. Just do you, you have other things to worry about right now. Trust me. :-)

Beaten during childhood was doable but being sent to the crawling space with the camel crickets and addic during mid summer or deprived of eating was harsh punishment. Its been a over decade since my then alci paps went ape ****, but even my mom that had my back when he went crazy on me cracked down and said I couldnt even be a mail man in life because I wouldnt be able to read the street signs. This is 5th grade, ****ing 5th grade. Far aswell paps saying I aint gonna be anything never was anything. All that **** just made me become worse, eventualy as a 4ft child started smoking cigs in 5th grade, weed in 6th grade, acid and coke by 7th grade. Felon at 15, being expelled within the first 3 weeks of HS and eventually dropping out of HS after the 3rd time in 9th grade. Long story short my then lifestyle brought me to jail several times before I realized, **** them this is my life, Im gonna prove them wrong. Got out of jail, got a Ged, got into college, got a year or so left after 6 years, but my plan is to be a millionaire before I leave school. Either way, my dad over all the years cant look at me while talking to me. Once he quite drinking after his 2nd DUI I guess he woke up and realized he ****ed up, and is now just a shameful old man. Either way, no mater what they say or what they do. It does not mean **** if you got the strength to not let it put you down.

maniac there is no race issue. Her family accepts me with open arms. My family has never had a problem with what race I dated and they often said they knew I would be with someone of a diff race. There is white poeple in my family so there is no problem there.

it just baffles me how they can shun everything i do but support extended family that has done way worse than I. My cousin ahs disgraced her family, been to jail, kicked out of the military, and is about to have a child out of wedlock with the baby father not supporting her at all. She is only 19!!! They drove to Alabama to go to her baby shower and bring her a gift. But their own son cant get a congrats or any kind of recognition for doing this under the right circumstances. I work, I am starting school back in Jan for radiology, never beeen in any law trouble and am working hard to support my family. I dont get why I have to be treated so different.
