In Europe they are VERY high, much worse than the US. Europe tends to drive less SUV's and non fuel efficient cars though.

    78 cents is the lowest I remember. I'm 19.

    Europeans get it BAD!

We were in Germany last summer...we had a Ford Mondeo with a 1.8 liter engine. It cost about 86 Euros to fill up the tank. That's $124!!! We only had to fill up once during the week, but still!

The only have high octane fuel there though. 93, 97, and 100. We should've rented a diesel car.

QD gave me a call 30min ago, said he once filled up the tank with a dime back in the day. The year I have no eye deer, but Im guessing long time ago.

hell yeah i remember when a gallon of gas costed less than a gallon of water lolol

Just earlier today something caught me off guard... at the citgo on old norcross, they had regular for 2.84, mid grade for 3.11, and premium for 3.29

something about that makes me think WTF is going on? Price gouging? Whats the deal with that, if anyone can shed light on it.

a long time ago, my dad was about to get a Truckstop/ gas station in Moultrie, GA, I vividly remember the price was .63 cents a gallon for regular unleaded

Exactly. There are a lot of people that are bull****ting in here:

    1970-72- 36 cents
    1973 - 39 cents
    1974 - 53 cents
    1975 - 57 cents
    1976 - 59 cents
    1977 - 62 cents
    1978 - 63 cents
    1979 - 86 cents
    1980 - $1.25
    1981 - $1.38
    1982 - $1.30
    1983 - $1.24
    1984 - $1.21
    1985 - $1.20
    1986 - 93 cents
    1987 - 95 cents
    1988 - $1.08
    1989 - $1.12

    1999 - $1.17
    2000 - $1.46
    2001 - $1.48

    Lolol.

s13, since this is your topic, I'll use you as an example. You say you saw gas at .79/gallon. You were born in 1988. Gas averaged $1.08 by then. I know that not every gas station sold at that cost countrywide, but the average fluctuations will not very +/- .30/gallon. A .79/gallon gas price hadn't been seen in 10 years before you were born. Later, QD.

I know I was in Suwanee area when I was little and my dad bought gas for $.63... He still talks to people about it today, so I'm pretty sure QD is wrong.

    I am also 18.

Also QD you have to remember the competition that occurred from gas stations on the same block. They would reduce prices like crazy.

I clearly remember around 2003 or 2004 in Flowery Branch, gas wasn't even a dollar...or wait, maybe it was diesel that was so cheap. I still remember seeing 78 cents. There was a point where gas prices dipped pretty low. Well...relatively speaking. It was 1.20 for some months, then it dropped to below a dollar.

Gas out in Acworth/Kennesaw area when Wade gGreen was a dirt/gravel road was about $.68-71, GA usually has pretty low gas, and it only gets lower the further out into the country you go. That was the day I begged my mom if I could fill the tank, (Because she sure as hell wasn't letting me drive)

I can't even remember. When I was a kid, it was probably 75 cents or less but I didn't pay attention.

I know for an absolute fact that I have purchased gas at 80-90 cents many, many times. In 99, I used to stop at the QT in Conyers every time I drove home to SC to see my family and I stopped at that station because it was always the cheapest oneI past on my way out of downtown. I remember it clear as can be that it was always between 80 and 90 cents that summer.

Click on "6 year". It doesn't go back to the 90's though.
